Call for Contributions — Recent Advances in Chemistry and AI
14–15 December 2026 | Paris, France | Organized by Pr[AI]rie
On behalf of Pr[AI]rie, the Paris Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, we invite contributions to a workshop bringing together chemists, broadly defined, and AI researchers to discuss recent advances and open challenges at the interface of chemistry and artificial intelligence. Pr[AI]rie is one of the four interdisciplinary AI institutes established under France’s national AI strategy.
The workshop will provide a forum for scientific exchange across disciplines, connecting the development of AI methods with experimental and computational challenges in chemistry. We welcome participants from academia and industry, including start-ups, large industrial companies, and major technology companies, to share their research, discuss practical experience, and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Topics will include AI and biological systems, sampling methods, laboratory automation, catalysis and materials discovery, and drug discovery, among others.
We invite contributions addressing new methods, applications, and outstanding challenges within these themes. Work connecting AI development with chemical questions, experimental validation, or industrial applications is particularly welcome. Researchers at all career stages, including doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers, are encouraged to contribute.
Keynote speakers include:
- Kim Jelfs — Imperial College London, United Kingdom
- Pascal Friederich — Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany
- Alexandre Tkatchenko — University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg
- Simon Olsson — Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden
- Ola Engkvist — AstraZeneca and Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden
- Max Welling — University of Amsterdam, Netherlands, and CuspAI
The workshop will span three half-days, from Monday afternoon, 14 December, to Tuesday evening, 15 December 2026, with a reception on Monday evening offering further opportunities for informal discussion. It will take place immediately after NeurIPS 2026 in Paris and its workshops, but is independently organised and is not an official NeurIPS event.
Attendance is free, and registration will open at a later date. The event will take place at Chimie ParisTech, 11 rue Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris.
We are now welcoming abstracts for oral and poster presentations. Please submit your abstract using the submission form by 31 October 2026. Early submissions are encouraged.
We look forward to welcoming you to Paris for an open exchange on the opportunities and challenges where chemistry meets AI.
