The National Research Foundation Singapore (NRF) is excited to announce that the Global Young Scientists Summit (GYSS) 2027 will take place in Singapore from 04-08 January 2027, and participant nominations are now open! More information on the Summit can be found at the end of this email.

INSA is cordially invited to submit:
up to 3 nominations for Participants to attend GYSS 2026 onsite in Singapore.

Nominations will close 29 July 2026 2359h SGT.

To nominate candidates for GYSS 2027, please click on the link above and submit a separate nomination for each nominee.

All required information and supporting details indicated in the nomination form must be completed and submitted for the nomination to be considered.

Important Notes Please note that submission of a nomination DOES NOT guarantee an invitation to participate in GYSS 2027.
  All nominations will be reviewed by the GYSS 2027 Organising Committee, which reserves the sole discretion and right to assess and shortlist nominees for participation.
  The outcome of the selection process is expected to be communicated around mid-October 2026. Shortlisted nominees will be required to formally accept their participation offer and complete the required registration procedures by the deadline stated in the offer notification. 
  Failure to accept the offer and complete the required actions by the stipulated deadline will result in the offer being deemed lapsed and invalid, and the GYSS 2027 Organising Committee reserves the right to offer the place to another nominee.
Please note that GYSS 2027 will ONLY provide the following support during the Summit period: Hotel accommodation for overseas-based participants at the time of offer acceptance only, on a twin-sharing basis, from 3 January to 9 January 2027; Transportation between the designated participants’ hotel and the Summit venue only (airport transfers will not be provided); and Selected catered meals during the Summit programme (details will be communicated closer to the Summit date).
For avoidance of doubt, GYSS 2027 will not provide or reimburse the following:

For all participants International travel arrangements and associated travel costs to and from Singapore; Airport transfers. For Singapore-based participants (based on the time of offer acceptance) Hotel accommodation. Participants are responsible for making their own arrangements for all expenses and services not expressly stated above.


Participant Eligibility

Nominees must fall within one of the following categories at the time of the Summit: Post-doctoral researchers or equivalent (within five years of obtaining their PhD degree); Graduate students (Master’s or Doctoral); or Undergraduate students. All nominees must satisfy the following eligibility requirements: Demonstrate a genuine interest in science and research; Demonstrate a strong commitment to their principal field of study and an interest in interdisciplinary research and collaboration; Be formally endorsed by an organisation invited to submit nominations under this nomination exercise; Possess sufficient proficiency in English to actively participate in Summit discussions and activities; Not have previously participated in GYSS in person. Participation in GYSS 2021 and GYSS 2022 (online editions) will not affect eligibility; and Not hold a permanent academic or research appointment. In general, individuals holding permanent positions, particularly those at professor or tenure level, will not be eligible for participation.
Institutions are strongly encouraged, where feasible, to submit nominations with balanced gender representation.

About the Global Young Scientists Summit (GYSS)
Since 2013, the GYSS has been bridging the gap between aspiring researchers and the foremost scientists and technologists of various fields. All attendees – whether on-site or online – will have the opportunity to engage and connect with distinguished speakers, which include recipients of the Nobel Prize, Fields Medal, Turing Award and Millennium Technology Prize. 

The Summit offers a series of activities, including live plenary lectures, panel discussions, Q&A sessions, and networking platforms.
