La DRI nous informe du lancement annuel de l’appel à projets du JLC avec le CSIRO. Cette information figurera également dans la prochaine MICANEWS.
We are excited to open the 2025-26 round of INRAe-CSIRO Linkage Grants. Every year, INRAe and CSIRO run a joint linkage program to support and encourage exchange and collaboration in areas of mutual interest and benefit to our organisations.
This round we aim to award up to 5 projects, each with a value of up to $AUD7,500 per project provided from CSIRO, with a similar amount provided by INRAe. The funding will cover travel related expenses (flights and living expenses) for short- to medium-term visits with the aim of undertaking collaborative activities during 2026. Please note, no salary or operating costs are permitted.
The main objectives of the program are to support:
• Science excellence and impact through international collaboration.
• Early to mid-career researchers to develop international networks (although submissions from all levels will be considered).
• Joint CSIRO and INRAe teams to develop activities that can target other sources of funding (e.g. International Associated Labs, established by INRAe and endorsed by CSIRO A&F https://www.inrae.fr/en/international-associated-laboratories-lia)
The program has identified the following areas where it wishes to encourage collaboration:
• Animal and plant phenotyping for improved breeding and management.
• Genomics as applied to ruminant livestock, aquaculture species, cereals, grapevine, oilseeds, and crop legume breeding (including adaptation and breeding for tolerance to abiotic and biotic stresses)
• Crop health management, including the sustainable management of resistant varieties and weed control.
• Crop and soil modelling.
• Adaptation of agriculture to climate change and variability.
• Environmental issues in agriculture.
• Food Science and technology.
• One Health related topics.
Hosting Research Units:
This call is hosted by A&F but is open to relevant projects across CSIRO. Applications from other RU are also welcome. Project support will be provided by the host research unit and therefore a cross-CSIRO panel will consider strategic alignment and fit with program objectives.
Submitting a proposal:
Please use this link to submit your proposal. Submissions should be jointly written by CSIRO and INRAe collaborators, in English. CSIRO participants should submit via the MS Form and INRAe participants should provide a copy of the submitted CSIRO form to the INRAe coordinator via email: Jean-Francois Hocquette jean-francois.hocquette@inrae.fr with copy to Thierry Caquet thierry.caquet@inrae.fr (make sure to select “save” on the form when submitting).
Priority will be given to new projects or to submissions by teams with excellent track records of collaborative research. If teams are already collaborating or have been previously supported by this fund, they will need to highlight what specific aspects of their partnership will be deepened or renewed in the new proposed collaboration.
The deadline for submissions is 5pm Canberra time on 12th December 2025. The outcomes of successful submissions will be provided in February 2026. Please note all travel should be planned for 2026. Please do not hesitate to contact JP Ral (jean.ral@csiro.au) or myself if you have any questions or require clarification. We will also be running two online drop-in sessions (invites coming soon) to answer questions about the grants so please attend one of these sessions if you have specific questions or require assistance preparing your submission.
